OVERVIEW

Every year, the Northern Serengeti National Park in Tanzania witnesses one of the most spectacular natural phenomena on the planet – the Great Wildebeest Migration. This awe-inspiring event, which occurs from July to October, is a breathtaking display of nature’s raw power and beauty. The Great Wildebeest Migration is not just about the wildebeest’s epic journey but also offers a complete package of wildlife, cultural experiences, and natural wonders that make it a must-see for any nature enthusiast.

 

Beyond the wildebeest migration, your journey will take you to Lake Natron, an otherworldly Salt Lake. Here, you can witness thousands of flamingos painting the shoreline with their vibrant pink plumage. You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Maasai culture, one of the most iconic indigenous communities in Africa. Spend time with Maasai tribespeople and learn about their traditions, customs, and daily life.

 

Central Serengeti offers a diverse and rich ecosystem with a plethora of wildlife. Here, you can spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) and numerous other species, including giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, and various antelope species. Game drives through the savannah provide ample opportunities for incredible wildlife sightings and photography. DAY 1

Arriving in Tanzania.

You will be welcomed and picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) by Ahsante Tours representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town for your accommodation ready to explore the beauty of Tanzania.

DAY 2

Kilimanjaro to Lake Natron

Your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel in Moshi in the morning. The drive will take you over bumpy paths, through remote Maasai areas with stunning views of the Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and “mountain of God” Ol Doinyo Lengai and if you’re lucky you might even see some zebra’s, giraffe or other wildlife.
Visiting this home to 2 million of lesser flamingos, and the views along the road to get there is nothing less than stunning. After reaching the lodge you’ll checking your rooms later on you will have time you can visit Ngaresero Waterfalls and enjoying This 600-metre-deep crack in the Great Rift Valley has a pretty waterfall that you can hike to by walking up the river. The waterfall is part of a beautiful, small oasis where hikers love to swim. Standing under the powerful waterfall and swimming in its pool is the perfect reward for hiking in the heat to get there.

DAY 3

Wildebeest Migration Experience.

You will be picked from the lodge and start your safari to northern part of Serengeti National Park. The northern Serengeti great Serengeti is well known for the famous annual great migration, where an estimated two 2 million herbivores migrate to Kenya’s Maasai Mara Game Reserve. One you make it to this corner of the Serengeti will be rewarded with gorgeous landscapes of green rolling hills, granite outcrops and acacia woodlands dotting open savanna, incredible wildlife, and most importantly, with massive herds of wildebeest and zebra making dangerous crossing of the croc-infested Mara. Later on in the evening you’ll be driving back to central Serengeti to the lodge to prepare your crater experience.

DAY 4

Wildebeest Migration Experience.

You will be picked from the lodge for your second day safari in northern part of Serengeti National Park. This area you won’t finish watching these big herds of Wildebeest Migration. It calls the really meaning of nature. You will have your packed lunch and later on in the afternoon you’ll be driving back to central Serengeti to the lodge to prepare your crater experience.

DAY 5

Central Serengeti - Karatu

At 06:30 am you will be picked up from the lodge and start the safari to explore the central part of Serengeti National Park. The site is worth the visit. It is one of the largest sites in Africa, home of more than 25,000 and over 500 birds making it on the sites to easily see the big 5 (buffalo’s, elephants, rhinos, lions, and leopards). Such excitement to see in the central Serengeti. You’ll be having a half day exploring wildlife in Serengeti and later on in the evening you’ll be transferred to Karatu for accommodation.

DAY 6

Return to Moshi or Departure.

Check out from the Bougainvillea Safari Lodge and drive from karatu to Moshi Stay at Weruweru River Lodge for the night. Alternatively, prepare for a late evening flight back home.
