5 DAYS EXPERIENCING CALVING SEASON

OVERVIEW

“If you’ve ever wondered why nearly two million wildebeest put themselves through the ordeal of the migration every year, then the Serengeti calving season will show you why”

Calving Season Experience is spectacular event that unfolds in the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem. This unique natural phenomenon occurs during the months of January to March, when thousands of wildebeest gather in this pristine wilderness to give birth to their young calves. The Ndutu calving season is a captivating display of nature’s raw and unscripted drama.

The Ndutu calving season is not only a time of birth but also a time of peril. Predators, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and crocodiles, are keenly aware of the vulnerability of the young wildebeest. This constant interplay between life and death is a testament to the delicate balance of the natural world.

The calving season in Ndutu is a photographer’s dream, with opportunities to capture stunning images of the wildebeest herds, the interactions between mothers and their newborns, and the predator-prey dynamics that play out before your eyes. The soft, warm light of the African dawn and dusk adds an ethereal quality to the experience, making it a favorite destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.

Witnessing the calving season in Ndutu is a privilege and a reminder of the untamed beauty and drama of the natural world. It’s a captivating blend of life, death, and the enduring cycle of life on the African plains.
