2 Days Tarangire National Park & Hot Spring Experience Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro

You will be picked up at your hotel in Moshi/Arusha at 0800hrs and transferred to the Arusha National Park to start off your game viewing experience in Tanzania’s smallest but most beautiful park in the northern circuit. Animals that are commonly found in the park include blue monkeys, baboons, warthogs, buffalos and giraffes. Although elephants and leopards are uncommon in the park they can be seen in the early morning and late afternoon if you are lucky enough to spot them. After your tour around the park, you will be transferred back to Moshi/Arusha in the evening.

Day 2:Tarangire National Park

Your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel in Moshi in the morning. The drive will take you over bumpy paths, through remote Maasai areas with stunning views of the Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and “mountain of God” Ol Doinyo Lengai and if you’re lucky you might even see some zebra’s, giraffe or other wildlife.
Visiting this home to 2 million of lesser flamingos, and the views along the road to get there is nothing less than stunning. After reaching the lodge you’ll checking your rooms later on you will have time you can visit Ngaresero Waterfalls and enjoying This 600-metre-deep crack in the Great Rift Valley has a pretty waterfall that you can hike to by walking up the river. The waterfall is part of a beautiful, small oasis where hikers love to swim. Standing under the powerful waterfall and swimming in its pool is the perfect reward for hiking in the heat to get there.

Day 3: Departure in Tanzania

Rise early to catch a glimpse of the grazers having their breakfast in the park. We leave the wild animals behind and continue down the coast. Our destination is the historical town of Bagamoyo, the former capital of German East Africa. Today it is known as a center for dhow sailboat building. We’ll have a celebratory feast tonight at our oceanside resort and reflect back on Mt. Kilimanjaro as we look out onto the Indian Ocean.

I joined an Ahsante group climbing the Kilimanjaro Machame route. Ascending isn’t easy, but the Ahsante team worked hard to maximise the chances of a successful ascent. Out of our group, nearly all managed to get to the top (something that isn’t usual). The guides were superb - supportive, very experienced and very friendly. Our team contained a medical doctor who was very reassuring and who was conducting research on the effects of altitude on the body. The Ahsante team are very welcoming, experienced and knowledgeable. The friendliness of the group, the stunning scenery and the Ahsante team made this an unforgettable trip.
